Schouwen-Duiveland
.....the charm of an island
Lovers of sea, sand and sun will discover the widest and most beautiful
beaches of Holland in the North-West of Schouwen. Immediately behind the
beach, there are large nature reserves with dune ranges and pine forests,
mostly open to the public, with miles of footpath, bicycle-path and riding
track. In the South, Schouwen-Duiveland borders on the Oosterschelde, a
salt-water tidal area with a unique flora and fauna. To the North of
Schouwen-Duiveland, the large Grevelingen Lake provides ample opportunities
for aquatic sports such as sailing, surfing, swimming, fishing, scuba diving
and canoeing.
